Aloha Au Ia 'Oe: Honeymoon Day 6!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!
Today's my birthday so to celebrate
I have a few more wedding pics coming up!

Today I am recapping the Road to Hana which was one of my favorite things on Maui! It was absolutely gorgeous!! This was another early day but it was well worth getting up early because it seemed like we were the only ones on the road!!
It's the road getting to Hana that you enjoy because once you get to Hana you realize it is a tiny but cute town with few amenities. The road is probably one of the loopiest roads I have ever seen and you have to go very slow because there are a lot of blind corners- but it was so fun and so well worth it. We picked up a free guide book at one of the local shops which highlights certain stops along the way! One of the first stops we made was a tiny freshwater water fall and because we left so early we had it all to ourselves!!

It was crazy that no one else was around!
Us in our very own freshwater pool!

Another tip: Pack a lunch and eat it on one of the stops you make!
A few miles after you reach Hana if you keep going you will reach the 7 sacred pools- this is definitely something you should do!! They are so pretty and you can see where they empty out into the ocean!
Here are a few of the pools emptying into one another.

Here we are under the water fall! We climbed a little further to the left and jumped off a rock into the pool- a bit scary but so much fun!

Also along the way there are cute little produce, baked goods, and jewelry road side stands. We stopped at this one called Hana Farms and bout some incredibly yummy banana bread. We also had them ship some bread to our families!

Another stop we made was at a bamboo forest- look how the light comes through the bamboo- enchanting!

Then we found a random pineapple plant- isn't it cute!
The road to Hana was so gorgeous and if you find yourself in Maui one day make sure you put this on your itinerary!
Coming up- a few more wedding photos from Anna and a Luau!

  1. Happy birthday, Kamie! :) We did part of the Road to Hana drive, but had to turn back because it was getting dark. It was gorgeous, though!
