Invitation Do Over!

Good morning lovelies!!

Soon after we had printed our invitations someone found a spelling mistake and we couldn't just send them all out with something misspelled. So we had to take out the middle invite-yep the one that was glued down. Once we got them stripped out they were still sticky so we had to lay them out on the bed so they wouldn't get stuck to each other.

Then we had to print the invites again except this time we used my cousins printer and for some reason they would not print to the right size- I am betting it took us an hour to an hour and a half before we figured it all out- here is your shout out Josh! Josh is Sallie my cousin's husband and he was the one who finally figured out how to get it to print to the right size!! Thank goodness for him!
That's my dad trying to show everyone on a map where the castle was!!
We also decided to go ahead and just hand out some of our invitations at Easter in order to save money on stamps. This was nice because I got to see everyone's reaction as they opened them!

Here is my first RSVP card from my Godparents!

What a great day minus the spelling mistake! Word to the wise make sure you have someone spell check your invites especially if they are used in a program without automatic spell check!!

Easter Weekend

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend- I flew home to Colorado for mine and except for the turbulence on the plane it was a perfect weekend.

My mom, grandma, and grandpa picked me up from the airport on Friday and then we went shopping for an outfit for my grandma to wear to the wedding. This was hilarious and so fun because I had my camera and my grandma played along by posing! She is really adorable-have a look!

My mom and grandma!
Then we found this really cute little store at the Flatirons mall called XOXO. We walked in and up on the manicans were these beauties:
Not the kids of course! But as soon as I saw the outfits I fell in love and had to get them for my lovely little cousins who are also the candle lighters! How sweet are they? This was right before the Easter egg hunt so while they were hiding eggs I made them model so they wouldn't peek!

I have a few more things to share with you this week so stay tuned!
Have a great week!

Pinata Tradition

OK so I feel like I should stop brainstorming cutesy little details and focus on getting the other ones done but I just can't help myself! I keep thinking of things and then google image searching them for more inspiration!! Or I see a great idea on a blog and just have to try it or put my own twist on it!  Anyway my newest idea comes from a tradition in our family that goes as far back as I can remember. It has never been used a a wedding and is usually only present at Christmas! I have no idea where this tradition came from or why but it makes us all happy and we all look forward to it! The tradition I am talking about is a pinata every Christmas. Everyone gets to hit the pinata starting from the youngest to the oldest however we usually don't make it through the teenagers. I was thinking about this at a wedding and of course I googled searched it and here is what I found:

Ashley & Ken's Blog
I could totally make this!!

Ruffled
Ruffled
How gorgeous is this one?
Monkey Said Bear
How fun does this look!!
Not Martha
Mini Pinatas! Maybe for the kids table!!
High Heels and Diet Dr. Pepper
Lots of mini pinatas!
So as you can probably already guess this will be my next DIY project! What do you think?

Moss Initials!

Happy Monday! And yes I have been a bad blogger lately not posting for an entire week and missing two Sundays with Etsy on Top. Sad!School is winding down and I am busy as ever. However I am back with my moss initials that I am ever so proud of!! We are going to use them on the church doors and then again at the castle!! I also embellished them with some of those fabric flowers that I made for my bridesmaids.

I followed the tutorial from Chelsea of Two Twenty One that was posted on Lovely Little Details! Here they are:

They make a little bit of a mess so make sure you have a workspace that can easily be cleaned up!

Might try to make the ampers and like Chelsea did but here are our letters together!!
Have a wonderful Monday!

No sew Flowers!

Happy Wednesday morning! Spring is in full bloom here in Omaha and to celebrate I wanted to try my hand at making some fabric flowers to accessorize my bridesmaids dresses with and to put on headbands for them. I tried pretty hard to do the ones where you cut out a petal shape and then sew a whole bunch of them together-- that did not work for. I am a terrible sewer and it looked a mess so last night I sat in despair until I saw my trusty hot glue gun!!! It is basically my new best friend because it allowed me to create this:

It was so much simpler than sewing and used a lot less fabric. I am proud to say that I became a real DIY last night because I created it without any tutorial. Yay! Today I want to share my little flowers with you!!

Things you may need:
 -HOT GLUE GUN!
-Fabric (Probably only need 1/2 yard if you are planning to do 6-10 flowers that are medium sized.)
-Felt for the back or regular fabric will work as well
-Scissors
-Pearl for middle

First go get some fabric- I used this sheer pink because I thought it was pretty but anything will do.

Cut about 8 little squares of fabric for each flower (you may need more or less to fill out your flower!)

Cut out a circle from you felt or regular fabric-my circle was about 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter.

Make sure your hot glue gun is ready and glue a little spot in the middle of your circle, then scrunch up your piece of fabric like this

And place on circle- do not worry too much about how it looks right now. You can scrunch it up later. Continue scrunching and placing on the circle until the circle is full.

Now smash down your flower so that you can find a good center to put your pearl on. Hot glue your pearl and place it on the center of your flower.

Trim the petals to your liking and if you want a little more ruffle in a certain spot use your glue gun to ruffle it.
The flower will either be on the waist or on the shoulderish part of the dresses!

So what do you think?
P.S. my moss letters are coming along but still not quite done!

DIY Fan/Program Box!

Remember the fans I showed you quite awhile ago that I wanted to make for our ceremony programs? Well while I was shopping at Michael's I found a box perfect to put them in!

Then I found some more letters and painted them grey.

Finished product complete with bows!
What do you think? Have a happy Tuesday! Tomorrow I am hoping to have my moss letters done to show you!

DIY Hangers For My Bridesmaids!

Happy Monday Morning Friends! Happy spring- it's official because the tulips have bloomed here in Omaha! This weekend was my first weekend with no tests and no papers due!! So I worked on some projects that I will be sharing with you all this week! Here are some hangers for my bridesmaid's dresses! Hope you enjoy.

At Michaels Craft store they have these tiny letters that I basically fell in love with!

Then I painted them pink.

I also found some pretty pink sparkly ribbon and hot glued it on top of the hangar then hot glued the letters.

Here they are- all finished!
Tomorrow I will show you our program box! Have a wonderful Monday and a great week!
