Little Details- Fan Programs!

“It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.” ~ John Wooden
I have loved and collected quotes since I could read! I find them inspiring and motivating so today I thought I would share a sweet little quote with you that is perfect for this blog post!

This week while we wait for wedding pictures to be ready I wanted to share with you some of the little details that made our big day happen! First up our fan programs:

Remember that fan box I made, well here it is holding all of the fans we made. I used a special template that I found from Wedding Paper Products-click here for some templates! We typed out our program in pink and grey, cut them out, glued them together, and finally put a popsicle stick in the middle with a cute pink or grey bow!

Our guests loved them and so did we! It was a great little detail for our big day and it was an easy diy project that we did together!

(To the brides in the planning process: this takes some time so if you want to add these to your diy projects plan some time too!)

Invitations: Check!

Happy Friday Everyone!! Yesterday we cut and pasted until my fingers hurt but it was so much fun! Danny and I cut all the paper out and then my grandma, cousins, and my mom helped me put them all together! All we have left to do is to put a seal on and then address the envelopes! The whole thing was basically DIY, I did order the paper and the pocket folds from Cards & Pockets whom I highly recommend if you like pockets and folders! The invites were designed using Microsoft Office Publisher and the map was made on Microsoft Office Power Point!
About 3/4 done! Loved how the piles got smaller!
Finished pile!
Accommodations insert.
Final invite.
RSVP card-  they check the little hearts!
Here is that map I made!
Finished on the inside!
It feels so good to have them done! This was probably the biggest project left, perfect for a spring break project! One more project done! Have a fabulous weekend and look for a few more posts from Andy's and Audra's wedding!

Water Bottle Labels!!

Happy Monday and hope you had an excellent weekend!! This weekend I found this adorable template for water bottle labels and think I will use it as a part of my OOT bags!

Source

Way cute huh!? She made them using PowerPoint! Visit the Ruffled blog to find this cute little project. It can be used for anything not just weddings. So I downloaded and played with them for a while and here are some I created in only about five minutes! Awesome and quick DIY labels.

The cross in the middle is a medical cross because I will be a nurse and he a doctor!!

In case you couldn't see the label close enough- just too adorable!

Have a great start to your week!!

Making it Fun for the Kids!

I saw this next idea on another blogger's site awhile back and think it is too cute not to share and possibly put into action. We will probably have a table of of kids at our wedding and I am sure it gets incredibly boring for them to sit still for all the toasts and the dinner... so why not have a fun kids table?

Circus Theme! I love those little tents!!

Beach theme! Perfect for a typical Omaha summer day!!

Loving the lollipop idea- Maybe I could put their names on them?

This is completely awesome and totally a DIY!!

Fun stuff!

Crafty theme!

More of a beach theme!

How fun are these balloons? Also look closely at the chairs- the kids can stick all of their little goodies on the sides!!

They fed them pizza- how neat!!

I am loving this idea more and more- I quickly googled for a fairy tale themed kids table and did not find many that I liked. However since the reception is at a castle I really like the fairy tale theme for a kid's table-- now I'm brainstorming!!!

Happy Tuesday!

I'll Be Home For Christmas!

Danny finished his first semester in Medical School and is headed home to Colorado today and Daisy and I couldn't be more excited! After the holidays we will finally all be in Omaha together!

As promised I wanted to show you my finished flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow- I finished them up this morning and only have two hot glue burns.
The pillow is made out of floral Styrofoam and flowers. I even put my ring on it to give you a sneak peek!

For the basket I used hot glue hence the burns, and flowers!

I had a lot of fun doing these but the best part was watching my grandma while she watched me put these together! All she said was "O that is so pretty, O gorgeous!"

Centerpieces!

After I met with the florist and recieved her quote for the centerpieces made of flowers I decided to go a different route to save some money. My mom and I went to good old Hobby Lobby just to see if anything struck our fancy and then we saw them!!

They are simple black wrought iron candle holders and will look perfect at the castle! We picked up enough for all the tables. The plan is to purchase pink candles and then our florist will scatter rose petals around the base of the centerpiece! We are going for classic elegance.

Save The Date Magnet

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!
Here is a preview of our save the dates!!
MagnetStreet is such a neat site for save the date magnets! They have a bunch of magnets to choose from and then you get to customize them with your colors and words in an editor program. Here is the one that we did:

Now we have not ordered our engagement pictures yet so we put one of the pictures that Anna had posted on facebook in just to see what it would look like. When I showed my fiance the magnet mock up he was so surprised that I had been able to figure out all the details with the technology (he was extremly impressed when I started a blog!) Apparently I am not the most tech savvy person but he sure is. So I told him I really did not make it on my own and that a web site helped me out a little. However MagnetStreet was a little bit too expensive and so we shopped around and began our first DIY project. So he went to work on another look alike magnet on his mac- if I could give a plug to mac computers consider this it!!

He made this one on iPhoto!! We still have a few changes to make like picking different pictures and making the borders a little less intense but isn't it amazing! He is so wonderful, he did this little project as a study break while studying for Med School Finals. I think it will make a really cute magnet and to save on postage we will be handing them out at Christmas!

Will you Be my Bridesmaid DIY?

This is an example of what I sent my Bridesmaids to ask them to be my bridesmaids. Of course I forgot to take pictures of them but they were fun to do and my bridesmaids all loved them!! I also personalized their hair and their dresses...
