Bridal Besties

Happy April! Ever since starting this blog I have been extremely impressed with the amount of support from the bridal blog community- I mean wow- are there any other people who are so sweet?? I really don't think so. I love the real bridal blogs from brides planning their own wedding and I love seeing their ideas and how they are navigating through the process. The lovely Laura over at Saying I Do compiled a list of bridal bloggers by month and I wanted to take that a step further. Since we are all supporting and commenting away on each other's blogs wouldn't it be great to receive some well wishes on your special day! So what I am proposing is holding a virtual bridal shower for each bride, the point will be to shower them with loving thoughts and support. I didn't know exactly how to do this but I want each blogger bride to basically get their own cute little picture or document that has sayings or words of wisdom from anyone who follows them. So anyway I set up another blog called Bridal Besties because that is how I look at all of you-- as my Bridal Best Friends!! So you can go on over and visit that blog, then leave a comment that you would like to post on the blog about a blogger and then I will add you as an author. Simple as that! You can write anything as a simple Good Luck and Congrats to a story about how much you love reading their blog everyday. The main point of this is support. Without further ado here are the Bridal Besties of April (Compiled by Laura):

4/10: Victoria @ Little Miss Mac (to be)
4/17: Justine @ A Knot Editor Gets Married
           4/??:  Sara @ Butterfly Cottage
4/23: Kayleigh @ The Knottie Bride
           4/23: The Future Mrs
           4/30: Nicole-Lynn @ Seaside Smitten
4/30: Melissa @ The Best is Yet to Come
           4/30: Channing @ Better Together
If you don't already go follow all of these wonderful April Brides as they are in their final countdown before the big day! Don't forget to go check out Bridal Besties and leave a comment! Let me know if you have a question or concern by commenting below.

Pretty in Pink!

Happy Monday Everyone!
This is something I have been thinking about ever since Sparkle and Hay featured it on her blog! Dying the crinoline under my wedding dress! I think I would go with a light pink but I just absolutely love the following pictures. I found a lot of tutorials and wanted to include one from E-how:

  • Start your washing machine by setting it on the longest cycle with the hottest water available
  • Open your washer to pause the cycle. Put rubber gloves on and place the crinoline, inside out, into the washer to get it completely wet. Set it aside and spread the fabric out as much as possible. Keep the washer open so the cycle doesn't continue.
  • Mix the dye according to package directions in a glass container. Wear gloves to avoid staining your hands. Pour the dye mixture into the open washing machine.
  • Place the inside-out crinoline into the washer. Let the washing cycle continue for 30 minutes.
  • Check the crinoline about every five minutes and untwist the fabric as necessary. If after 30 minutes, you want a darker shade of color, reset the cycle for another 30 minutes and check on it until you get the color you want. Finish the rinse cycle, then hang the crinoline to dry.
  • Wash out your washing machine by letting it go through the same cycle with nothing in the washer but detergent and one cup of bleach.Read more: How to Dye Wedding Crinoline

Love at First Sight?

Happy Saturday!
One of the newest trends departs from the traditional don't see the groom before the ceremony. It's the idea of a First Look or First Sight! I am considering it because we will only have one photographer and she won't be able to see and capture both of our faces as I walk down the aisle. The first look will allow us to do our pictures before the ceremony and spend more time with our guests at the reception. Here are my inspiration pictures!

This couple was blindfolded and so technically didn't see each other but were able to talk to each other!

What do you think about a first look? Are you doing one or did you do one?

Sweethearts!

It's Wednesday and the middle of the week! Yay!

Ever since seeing Andy's wedding I am entertaining the idea of a Sweetheart Table! I think they are a cute way to get a little alone time during your reception!! I also like the idea of allowing the wedding party to sit with their families or guests!!
