Tuxes & Bowties

I received a great piece of advice the other day and put it into action today. Someone told me to pick out the tuxes first and then match the bridesmaids dresses to the tuxes! So Danny and I went on down to Men's Warehouse where he could get his rental for free! We picked all of the tuxes out and put down our deposit- one more thing to check of the list!! We decided to put him in an all grey suit with a grey bow tie, his groomsmen and ring bearer in a grey suit with a pink bow tie, and our dads in a grey suit with a black tie.
I did bring my camera and much to my despair Danny did not have to try anything on like I thought-- I guess it is totally different than dress shopping!! Anyway it was probably a good thing they didn't have him try it on because the camera died. Here is a preview and when he goes to try it on I will take real life pictures!!

Loving the bow ties!!

Happy Saturday see you tomorrow for Sundae with an Etsy on Top!

Welcome Bags!

Many of our guests are traveling from Colorado to attend our wedding, some of them have never been to Omaha and close to none of them have been on the Creighton Campus. We are looking forward to showing them where we live and what we have been up to for the past 5 years of our lives! In a way it is like a mini destination wedding and we really want to make them feel like they are on a weekend getaway to enjoy themselves. To help them do that we want to design Omaha welcome bags which will either be in their hotel room or handed to them when they check into the hotel. I am hoping to fill it with some coupons, snacks, waters, and I would love to get some tickets for the College World Series and put them in the bags. I am also going to fill it with unique things from Omaha and Creighton. Here are a few little ideas...

Simple & Cute!

Love the pails!

Pretty close to what we would want to fill ours with.
Favorite bag- isn't it adorable?

If you have any ideas or anything unique to Omaha that I could add I would love to hear them!!
Have a great Thursday Night!

When Favorites Collide!

One of my favorite things to do at the end of the day (nowadays) is to curl up with my laptop and some tea and catch up on all of the blog wonderfulness that happened during the day!! Today I started my first day back at Nursing school and am loving it but after an 8am-5pm day of classes I was ready to see some gorgeous weddings. I have a tiny list of blogs that I follow, mostly for ideas for our wedding and two of my favorites showed up on the same page!! I recently "met" Jacin from Lovely Little Details through the blogging world. She planned her wedding and blogged all about it and now has a great blog called Lovely Little Details. Well today I logged on and saw she had been featured in Style Me Pretty!! This blog is the ultimate in my book. Her wedding was absolutely gorgeous and she so deserved to be featured!!  So please, please check out her blog and then check out her wedding at Style Me Pretty-- for me it was the perfect end to my day: Stylish and pretty lovely little details!!

More Show Style

Jeka and I had such a fun time yesterday registering for prizes and looking for ideas. I also got a lot of coupons for different things which was amazing!! There were about 3 party stores there and they gave away some coupons which I am going to use for the kid's tables- yay!!

These are just some random photos we took- the one on the bottom is a Harley Davidson limo.
Hope you had a fabulous Monday!

Pose!

The show that they put on was mainly by David's Bridal which was awesome since that is where I am thinking about getting the bridesmaid's dresses at! They showed a lot of cute and classy styles all of which I wish I could show to you but we were pretty far back and the camera couldn't pick up all the great details on the dresses, so here are some of the things we liked and laughed at!!

The little boy models were just adorable and really stole the show with their bikes and training wheels!! I also liked that fluffy flower girl dress on the bottom left!! Then the bridesmaids came out with boots on and they played a song called boots and boys- kinda cute and funny!
I love the bridal shows that can actually give you ideas, and I mean actual hands on-- what your wedding will actually look like if you choose us, ideas! That is why I really enjoyed this show! It seemed like there were at least a dozen cake bakeries there and floral displays so here is some of their work!

Cakes Galore!

A lot of the pictures I took were from Hyvee (where I am getting my cake!), Bag N' Save,  and Baker's.
The reason being that these vendors offer awesome prices for an awesome cake!! If you are getting married in Omaha or anywhere with these stores check them out because you might be surprised!! The Cakery, Dolce Cakes, and The Cake Specialist are also great vendors in Omaha! Now there are a ton more vendors who would be thrilled to do your cake but these are just the ones that I saw at the show with great cake designs!!

Another thing that I loved was the top right picture. They took one flower and put it in a vase and floated a candle on top- very elegant and classy!

Yummy! It was incredibly hard and very tempting to eat all of the samples- but we stuck to our guns and did not taste any!!

Stay tuned another photo board is on it's way!!

Omaha Bridal Showcase!

Today, as promised, I am bringing you a few images from the Omaha Bridal Showcase! Jeka (my maid of honor) and I attended the show yesterday and had quite a lot of fun!! Danny and I bought a new camera, so all of the images are from our camera!! I have put together a few style boards to show you what we saw! In the next couple posts you will feel like you were there!!

Ready with our Starbucks!!
And our tickets!!

Cakes Galore style board is up next!!
