Pink Wedding Shoes!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! To start off this week I have been looking at these pretty pink shoes!

I absolutely love this idea-- brides are adding a pop of color to their dress with bright colored shoes! Our colors are grey and pink and I think I will have pink heels on under my dress and personalize them with the words I Do! Also loving the pink converse shoes for the guys at the bottom of the page. Here are some ideas, enjoy!!

Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Isn't it amazing how fast a year comes and goes? Looking back I had a pretty rough year yet I learned so many things along the way that I am now thankful for!

Remember back in elementary school when our teachers would make us write down everything that we are thankful for and then we would put it on a cute little turkey made out of our hand print... Well here is my thankful turkey list:
First and foremost that God is in my life and has guided me through this year! That I have a healthy and happy family all around, that Danny is in my life and next year at this time we will be married!! I am thankful for my friends, my teachers, and everyone in my life who has helped me through this year. For Muffy and Daisy my doggies.  I am thankful to be in a country where I can write these things down and share them with the ones I love.

I am also thankful for the Macy's day parade on at 9am tomorrow, pumpkin pie, and the beginning of the Holiday Season!!

Warm and Cozy!

As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter I couldn't help but love the idea of doing a quilt for our guest book! We would have a unique keepsake that will keep us warm during those awful Omaha winters!

Isn't this just darling!

We could even put our wedding photos and engagement photos on the quilt!!

Will you Be my Bridesmaid DIY?

This is an example of what I sent my Bridesmaids to ask them to be my bridesmaids. Of course I forgot to take pictures of them but they were fun to do and my bridesmaids all loved them!! I also personalized their hair and their dresses...

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen...

To both Danny and I these people are some of the most important people in our lives; many of them grew up with us, stood by us, and went thru thick and thin with us! It only seemed natural to pick the following people to stand up beside us as we make a commitment to each other and to God!

Maid of Honor:  Jeka-friend of the Bride  &Groom
Bridesmaids:
Julia- Friend of the Bride& Groom
Bridget- Cousin of the Bride
Jenny- Sister of the groom
Madison- Cousin of the Bride

This is the idea of what I want them to wear-- except in grey and pink... I love how they all have different dresses on! Click on the link!!

Cake!

Who knew stores like Hyvee or even Wal-mart can make fabulous looking cakes for about half of what cake bakeries will do it for! Thank goodness we saw Hyvee at the Omaha bridal show with mock up cakes and samples-- this is what our cake will look like:
We will also have a surprise cake at the reception too!!

Winning A Contest!!

So I have learned over the past couple months that the wedding industry loves to give things away and it is up to the bride and groom to find these little freebies here and there!! Recently I won a pricey necklace at a bridal show and now I have won a $150 gift certificate to MayRey Designs!!! I also won one of their hair accessories absolutely free!! I am a person who never wins anything but I think I got pretty lucky here!

This is the veil that I am thinking about getting!!
                                                     Love the little rhinestones...

Here is the hair accessory I also won-- not for sure that
I love it but we will see when I get it-- it will probably be
                                          here next week...

Engagement photos!

If this is not proof that we live in a small world I do not know what is!

Last January before Danny and I got engaged I was home for Christmas and my mom showed me this amazing photographer that she had found. She then told me that she taught her in kindergarten and had been following her work for awhile!! I looked at her photos and they were just gorgeous of couples in love... The problem was that she lived in another state and would travel but we just did not want to pay the traveling fee. So I let that slip out of my head and began looking for other photographers around Omaha. One day I ran across Anna's name again in a google search and found that she was moving to Omaha for her husband's job!! When I emailed her I was so nervous that she had already been booked but she emailed me back and said " Some things are just meant to be!"

Here are a few of our engagement pics that she posted as a preview:

Picture from Lane Weddings in Omaha

Danny and I both went to undergraduate school here at Creighton University in Omaha Neraska, and so it only seemed natural that we would get married here at the campus church!

Miracles! A side note about the special people in our lives!

Last week my grandpa who is 83 years old had a stroke. Before the stroke he was the most active 83 year old I know, he mowed his lawn, took care of my grandma, drove all over, cooked, cleaned, even helped my dad with harvesting on our farm! I thought he was going to loose his independence and possibly his life and all of this in a matter of a few moments. However my grandmother managed to somehow move him from where he fell to a chair and called my cousin who is an amazing nurse by the way. From there they called 911 and an ambulance came for my grandpa whose whole right side had lost feeling and was just hanging there.

We have a pretty big family and many friends who were called during the time between the initial 911 call until he laid in the Emergency room. I bet thousands of prayers were sent up at that time asking God to do what he could. And that night the power of the faith of a family resulted in a miracle. The doctors said that he had fully recovered from this very dangerous kind of stroke and that they had never seen anyone recover this quickly.

Today he is healthy and fine and planning to drive to my wedding- miracles happen if you just believe!
Wedding Countdown Ticker

Let the Countdown Begin!

A few months ago my long time boyfriend and best friend finally popped the question! It was then that I realized how fascinating the wedding industry is... now don't get me wrong I am not talking about the millions of dollars that are spent on putting on a weddding, I am talking about the love, compassion, and utter delight that two people enjoy when they plan their wedding! Their whole future is in front of them and it is so amazing to experience that when you plan a wedding for you, are not just planning a day but the rest of your lives together! So let the countdown begin to June 24,2011!
